Micah 7 Ministries
“Called to serve, committed to the call.” A church now in its tenth year, built on the conviction that there are greater needs in the world than there are in the church.
Called
Dr. Nicole B. Simpson has been the Senior Pastor of Micah 7 Ministries in Plainfield, New Jersey since 2016, holds an M.Div. magna cum laude and a doctorate from Boston University, and has been a CFP® since 2000. The pastoral work and the planning work are the same work: people in crisis, needing a next step.
She is direct about why people hire her. In her own words on the call that started this project: “the reason why people work with me is because I am a woman of faith and I’m knowledgeable.” Both halves, in that order.
This does not mean the practice only serves people of faith. The planning work is the planning work. But the faith is not decoration on a marketing page — it is a decade of actual pastoral responsibility, and it shapes how she sits with someone whose life has come apart.

A specific gap
Pastors and ministry leaders occupy one of the strangest financial positions in professional life: often responsible for an organization’s money and chronically under-planned on their own. Housing allowances, self-employment tax, denominational pension rules, and a culture where asking about your own compensation feels unspiritual.
It is one of her five signature talks, and it exists because she is on both sides of it — a CFP® who also has to think about her own housing allowance.

Faith and finance programming covers stewardship, financial responsibility, family and purposeful wealth-building.
